  • The Executive Committee Meeting is held at the VFW AMVETS Post #2, Frederick, MD the first Tuesday of the month. The next Executive Committee Meeting will be held on August 1, 2017 @ 11:00 AM.
  • The Member Meeting is usually held at the VFW AMVETS Post #2, Frederick, MD the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The next Member Meeting will be held on July 12, 2017 @ 2:30 PM. We will have a guest speaker from Maryland Relay who will tell us about free services available for those who cannot hear well on the phone.

  • There is a lunch get-together every Tuesday at AMVETS. Members are invited to come.
  • Frederick Department of Aging Vetertans Recognition and Resource Day will be on Monday, July 10, 2017, at 9 AM at the Senior Citizens Center, 1440 Taney Ave.
  • On Wednesday, July 26, there will be an Army Twilight Tattoo saluting Korean War Veterans at Whipple Field at Fort Myers at 6:30pm with a reception at the Fort Myers Officers Club at 5 PM prior to the event.
  • The National Wreath Laying ceremony at the Korean War Washington Monument will be the morning of Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 10 AM. Bus departure time is to be determined.
  • The Frederick Wreath Laying ceremony at our monument on Bentz St in Downtown Frederick will be on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 10 AM.
  • Chapter #142 Annual Summer Picnic

    Picnic Lunch at Dutch's Daughter
  • The 2017 Summer Picnic will be held at Dutch’s Daughter Restaurant on Saturday, September 16, at noon. Menu to include salad, fried chicken, pulled pork BBQ, rolls & cornbread, potato salad, cole slaw, coffee, tea, soft drink and apple crunch for dessert. Cost will be $15 per person. Please, RSVP by September 9 using this Form.
  • The KWVA National Convention is being held in Norfolk, VA October 4-8. Information on attending is in Graybeards or the KWVA website if you wish to attend.
  • The KWVA will be the honored unit at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery on Saturday, November 11, 2017. There will be 180 seats at the Amphitheatre reserved for Korean War Veterans. There will be a reception at the Women in Military Museum and a wreath laying at the Korean War Memorial after the Ceremony. Bus will be provided.
