Minutes of Executive Committee Meeting
Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142, KWVA
August 6, 2019

In Attendance: Commander Becker, Vice Commander Eader, Secretary Wienhoff, Treasurer Mount, Chipley, Cody, Rinehart, Hall and Fox
Unable to Attend: Murphy, Kephart
Member Attending: Thornton
Guest Attending: John Wilcox

Commander Becker called the meeting to order at 11:30 am.

Minutes of the July 2, 2019 meeting were presented by Secretary Wienhoff and were approved on motion by Mount and second by Eader.

Treasurer's report was presented by Treasurer Mount, which consisted of the Balance Sheet for July 31, 2019 and Income and Expense report for July 2019. After review, the report was approved on motion by Eader, second by Chipley.

The following matters were discussed:

The Commander noted that a thank you letter had been sent to Country Meadows Retirement Home expressing appreciation for the luncheon provided for Korean War Veterans on July 23rd.

FSK Legion Post 11 invitation-only Centennial Celebration was attended by Commander Becker on July 19, 2019. The event recognized Post 11 past commanders and supporter George Delaplane. Other veteran units attending were not part of the program.

An email from Priscilla Rall regarding contact information for the Veterans History Project was received and the chapter was noted as a Color Corps source.

The Chapter will not be participating in the Rocky Ridge parade because vehicles will not be available. Vice Commander Eader will notify Priscilla.

No Chapter members can respond to an invitation from a Korean National Veterans organization in Beltsville, MD.

Secretary Wienhoff and Chip Chipley will represent the Chapter in response to an invitation from the Golden Gears Car Club to attend their meeting this evening.

It was noted that the firm Mission Barbeque which had been contacted for catering if the Chapter chose to have an outdoor picnic and which catered the First Lady of Marylandís Welcome Home Reception had donated more than 1 million dollars to the USO.

Treasurer Mount reported he has to date received 17 reservations for the picnic on September 14th.

Members expressed relief that an accident that totaled Richard Codyís car did not result in any injury to him.

A motion to adjourn was made by Eader, second by Rinehart and the meeting adjourned at 12:30 pm.
