Minutes of Executive Committee Meeting
Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142, KWVA
November 7, 2017

In Attendance: Commander Mount, Secretary Wienhoff, Treasurer Eader, Chipley, Fox, Rinehart, Malavenda, Murphy and Kephart
Unable to Attend: Vice Commander Becker, Cody

Commander Mount called the meeting to order at 11:45 am.

Minutes of the October 3, 2017 meeting were presented by Secretary Wienhoff and were approved on a motion by Chipley, second by Rinehart.

The Treasurerís Report consisting of the Balance Sheet for October 31, 2017 Income and Expense Report for October 2017was presented. The report was approved by a motion of Wienhoff, second by Malavenda.

Commander Mount reviewed the following items:

We had a good turnout for the Honor Guard and Final Salute for Jack Droneburg. Dottie was very pleased with what we did to honor Jack.

Because of potentially bad weather for the Brunswick Parade we had limited participation. Fred and Glenn did bring their convertibles and Mount, Chipley and Rinehart rode with them.

We are invited to a Veteranís recognition event at Oakdale High School on November 8th. Be there at 9:45 for a 10 am event in their Auditorium which will be followed by a luncheon. Come in Class A uniform.

Donít forget our monthly meeting tomorrow at 2:30 pm.

There will be a Veterans Celebration on November 9th at the Monteview Dining room at 8:30 am. Plan is to have a seat for one of us available at each table so we can sit with the veterans.

November 9th is Veterans Recognition Day so wear something that shows you are a veteran.

We are invited to attend a Veteranís recognition event at Windsor Knolls Middle School on November 9th. Come at 1:15 for refreshments in Class A uniform.

On November 11 there will be a formal ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Amphitheater for which KWVA has been allotted 180 seats. We have decided to only attend the Amphitheater portion of the events of the day. A bus will take us from the Urbana Park and Ride to the visitor center from which we will use the shuttle service to the amphitheater. Departure time will be at 6:30 am. Space has been requested for Mount, Wienhoff, Becker and wife, Chipley, Murphy, Fox and wife, Malavenda, Cody and Kephart.

Member and wives are invited to a Veteranís History Project luncheon at Dutchís Daughter Restaurant on November 18. Reception is at 11:30 and the luncheon is at 12. Come in Class A uniform.

The Chapter Christmas Party is planned for December 13, 2017 at 12 noon. The menu is salad, Dutchís chicken, honey glazed salmon, twice baked potatoes, vegetables, drinks and wine will be served at dinner. The cost to members and guests is $25 per person. A musical group is being sought for entertainment.

[Balances for the Scholarship Fund and Citizens Nursing Home were stated.]

According to Pricilla Rall, Col. Weber plans to bring 5 jugs for the Wall of Remembrance collection to the meeting tomorrow.

There being no further business to discuss the Commander adjourned the meeting at 12:15 pm.
