Minutes of Executive Committee Meeting
Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142, KWVA
March 7, 2017

In Attendance: Vice Commander Becker, Secretary Wienhoff, Chipley, Knoebel, Rinehart, Fox, Malavenda and Kephart
Unable to Attend: Commander Mount, Treasurer Eader, Knoebel, Cody

Vice Commander Becker called the meeting to order at 11:40 am.

Minutes of the February 7, 2017 meeting were presented by Secretary Wienhoff and were approved on a motion by Chipley, second by Malavenda.

There was no Treasurerís Report.

Vice Commander Becker reviewed the following items:

Chipley reported on the March 4th event at the DC Korean War Monument. Eight members of Chapter 142; Commander Mount, Chip Chipley, Tony Malavenda, Dr. Kim, Joseph Chang, Wendell Murphy, Fred Becker and Jim Miller rode the bus and attended the event. Col. Weber and Annelie went by their own transportation. A Korean businessman presented a check for $205,000 in support of the Wall of Remembrance. Governor Hogan of Marylandís wife was in attendance, as was the Korean Ambassador and other dignitaries.

An unplanned Final Salute was rendered for member Nelson May by Mount, Eader, Chipley and Kephart. Jim Joy also attended the funeral.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:10 pm on a motion by Chipley, second by Fox.

Minutes of Member Meeting
Col. William E. Weber Chapter 142, KWVA
March 8, 2017

Secretary Wienhoff called the meeting to order at 2:40 pm.

Chaplain Rinehart offered the opening prayer and the members pledged allegiance to the flag.

Minutes of the February 8, 2017 meeting were read by Secretary Wienhoff and approved on a motion by Cody, second by Malavenda.

The Treasurerís report was presented by Chipley consisting of the Balance Sheet and Income and Expense for February, 2017. The report was approved by motion of Malavenda, second by Cox.

Chipley thanked the members who attended the event at our DC Monument on March 4th. It was a nice ceremony and a check for $205,000 was presented to Col. Weber for the Wall of Remembrance.

He also reported that a Final Salute was given for Nelson May by Mount, Chipley, Eader and Kephart. Member Jim Joyce also attended the funeral.

At the behest of Commander Mount the Secretary said Chapter 313 is requesting a count of Chapter 142 members who would be attending the joint Chapter Meeting on April 4th at Winchester American Legion Home. Five members responded they would be attending.

Old Business: - None

New Business: Wienhoff reported that the Golden Gears Home Run Car Show is being held on June 24, 2017 at Harry Grove Stadium. Our Chapter will again be a sponsored Veterans Organization at the show. He reminded chapter members to be available for a Color Guard for the opening ceremony which will probably be at 9am as in previous years.

Thornton won the 50/50 and he donated $7 back to the Chapter.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Chipley, seconded by Fox and the meeting was adjourned at 3:05 pm with a salute to the flag.
