Unable to Attend: Commander Mount, Treasurer Eader

Vice Commander Becker called the meeting to order at 11:25 am.

Minutes of the November 7, 2017 meeting were presented by Secretary Wienhoff and were approved on a motion by Malavenda, second by Fox.

The Treasurerís Report consisting of the Balance Sheet for November 31, 2017 and Income and Expense Report for November 2017 was presented Vice Commander Becker. The report was approved by a motion of Chipley, second by Malavenda.

Welfare Chairman Rinehart was asked to send a get well card to Commander Mount.

Vice Commander Becker reviewed the following items:

The Wall of Remembrance jugs should be collected on December 26th and brought to the January Executive Committee meeting to count contributions and deposit the funds.

The Veterans Celebration on November 9th at the Montevue Home went well and this time we were able to sit with the resident veterans.

We had good representation at the Veteranís recognition event at Oakdale High School on November 8th. A good luncheon was provided for the veterans attending.

We enjoyed refreshments at the Veteranís recognition event at Windsor Knolls Middle School on November 9th prior to the event in the auditorium. The 8th grade band was particularly good.

On November 11 there were five of us plus Sandy Becker and Jo Ann Fox who endured the cold for the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Amphitheater. It was pleasant to hear the Air Force band perform and it is not often you hear the Vice President in person. Our time in the cold was extended because they lost our bus. Sandy said it was an experience we will not soon forget.

Members and wives attended the Veteranís History Project luncheon at Dutchís Daughter Restaurant on November 18. It was a very enjoyable event.

The Chapter Christmas Party is planned for December 13, 2017 at 12 noon. The menu is salad, Dutchís chicken, honey glazed salmon, twice baked potatoes, vegetables, drinks and wine will be served at dinner. The cost to members and guests is $25 per person. A musical group is being sought for entertainment. To date, 40 have signed up to attend.

The Community Foundation confirmed that two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded from our account next year.
